LA JOLLA, CA - July 25, 2005 - eBook Technologies, Inc., the leading supplier of intelligent reading solutions; and Fictionwise.com, the leading independent eBook publisher and distributor, today announced they are partnering to bring over 10,000 electronic book titles and an affordable yet full-featured reading device to consumers. Under the agreement eBookwise.com, a Fictionwise company, will resell a private branded version of the ETI-2 from eBook Technologies. Fictionwise will offer its customers the eBook reader it calls the eBookwise-1150 for $129.95, which includes a $20 content bonus. "eBookwise.com is the top destination for consumers seeking high-quality and award-winning eBooks. We are committed to providing the best and most economical electronic reading experience possible for our customers," said Scott Pendergrast, Fictionwise co-publisher. "The eBookwise-1150 does just that in an easy to use package for around $100!" Roughly the size of a paperback book, weighing about a pound, and with a backlit screen, the eBookwise-1150 provides unique electronic features that offer a reading experience beyond that of a traditional book. Page turning and text orientation changes are easily accomplished with just the push of a button. Touch screen technology enables readers to enlarge the text size, bookmark pages, highlight passages, make notes, and search for key words and hyperlink to other parts of the book. Registration at eBookwise (http://www.eBookwise.com) is free. When an eBookwise member purchases an eBook, it is stored in the member's "Bookshelf," where it can be downloaded as needed. "We are proud to be the technology suppliers behind the eBookwise reading device and online bookshelf," said John Rivlin, eBook Technologies CEO. "They have signed agreements with major publishers including Random House, Harper Collins and Simon & Schuster to retail their eBooks. eBookwise-1150 readers can enjoy the thousands of titles from these publishers already available. More are coming every month." |
