Tour the ETI-1 Device
View Front - Side - Top - Bottom

The ETI-1 is packed with features that are both powerful and easy to use.

View the Front
Move your cursor over the picture of the ETI-1 to see descriptions of its buttons and menus.

Shortcut Button
Allows you to set a shortcut to a specific feature/function on your eBook.

Bookshelf Button
Allows you to view any eBook Editions stored on your device. Your Online Bookshelf is also displayed here, which lists all the eBook Editions you own.

Brightness Control
Turn the knob to adjust the brightness on the screen. This affects the brightness of the background, not the text or graphics.

Contrast Control
Turn the knob to increase or decrease the contrast difference between the background and the text or graphics.

Page Forward/Back
Toggle Switch
Use the right edge of the switch to page forward and the left edge of the switch to page back.

Pen Palette
Tap the tab to open the Pen Palette when you are reading an eBook Edition. Then tap Draw to make notes on a page, Erase to delete notes and marks, Hilite to highlight text, and Search to look for a word or phrase.

Highlight
Highlight text with just a touch of the screen.

Notes
Add notes and drawings to a page. (Even insert a blank page for additional notes.)

Bookmark
Bookmark a page simply by tapping the upper right corner.

Touchscreen
The back-lit 6.75" x 5" color LCD touchscreen, with adjustable brightness and contrast controls, enables comfortable reading anywhere, even in the dark. Use your finger to touch the icons and links to activate the many features and functions, or use the stylus that is stored in the top of the device.

Page Navigation Bar
Skip through your title easily and quickly. Touch the bar and it displays the number of your current page.

Side View

The brightness and contrast controls are located on the side of your eBook.

Turn the knob to increase or decrease the contrast between the background and the text or graphics.

Top View

The ports for the power, phoneline and Ethernet connections are located on the top of your eBook. The stylus is also located here.

Ethernet Connection
Plug in your Ethernet line here.

Phone Connection
Plug in your phoneline cord here.

Power Connection
Plug in your power adapter here.

Stylus
Use the stylus like a pen to select items on-screen. To use, simply push in on the stylus and pull out.

Bottom View
View Front - Side - Top - Bottom

The battery and CompactFlash Memory Card are located on the bottom of your eBook. Simply connect your power adapter to recharge the battery. Your eBook's local storage is provided by a flash memory card. You can increase the storage by purchasing and installing a larger card.

Battery
Your battery is located here. If you need to take it out, push the tab to the right and open it.

CompactFlash
Here you can insert a new card. To remove a card, press in on the small tab and pull out the card. If you have trouble pressing the tab in all the way, use the stylus to push it in.
